Sport is uniquely positioned to enable people to unlock so many of life’s opportunities. At its core, it is about people getting active, and improving their health as a result. However, it is also about so much more than that, offering people the chance to learn new skills, build confidence, and work together as a team. It is for these reasons that sport plays such a key part in Vitality’s ethos as an organisation, in that it ultimately helps us to fulfil our core purpose to make our members healthier, and enhance and protect their lives.
We’ve been privileged over the last three years to partner with the Sunday Times Sportswoman of the Year Awards in association with Vitality.
Supporting women in sport is a key focus for us as an organisation, and we hope that by raising awareness through these types of initiatives, and by partnering with inspirational role models from the world of sport, such as Dame Jessica Ennis-Hill and Ellie Simmonds OBE, we can encourage more women to get involved in sport, and enjoy the positive changes it can bring to their lives.
